THINGS TO KNOW
Regardless of the type you decide on, proper care of the lenses is essential to eye health.
Contact lenses should not be rinsed with or stored in water (tap or sterile water).
Keep the contact lens case clean and replace it regularly, at least every three months. Lens cases can be a source of contamination and infection. Do not use cracked or damaged lens cases.
Don't wear with makeup on: Put in your contacts before you put on eye makeup.
Follow your doctor's instructions: Your doctor may give you special instructions.
Trim your nails: Keep your fingernails trimmed to avoid touching your lenses with them.
Do not put your lenses in your mouth to wet them. Saliva is not a sterile solution.
Don't wear while swimming: Avoid wearing contacts while swimming, showering, or using a hot tub.
Take out before sleeping: Take out your daily-wear lenses or extended-wear lenses before sleeping.
Clean your case: Rinse your case with sterile contact lens solution and let it air dry. Replace the case every 1–3 months, or if it's cracked or damaged.
Store in correct case: Place your lenses in the correct basket or case to avoid mixing them up.
